Thursday Morning “Paper Plate Awards”

We’ve eaten our last breakfast and the last mealtime “Paper Plate Awards” have been handed out. And the final winners are:

“Help, my bunk fell on me and I have to run a marathon” award for Mallory Bailey

Laynie Boetticher and Kennedi Mullen earned the “Helping Hand” award for doing a fantastic job helping the kitchen staff clean the mess hall

Ryan Crozier was given the “Delusional Dancer” award

Lunchtime Awards

At lunch, several more awards were handed out…

Riley McDonald was given the “Excited Dog” Paper Plate Award

Maggie Barbee & Rachel Morris were given the “Muddiest Female” award

Ryan Crozier was named “Muddiest Male”

Joshua Evans was given the “Barreling Through” award for barreling through the Wheelbarrow race in the obstacle course

Michael Stout was given the “Picture Perfect Finish” award for videoing the official race results from the Jr. Olympics foot races

Jericho Purcell was given the “Frogman” award for the longest jump in the Long Jump competition

Wednesday Morning Team Standings & Awards

At breakfast, the latest team standings were announced:

The entire camp sang “Happy Birthday” to Molly Crawford.

Sports staff member Sean Grimes was awarded the “Precisely Painted Kickball Field” Paper Plate Award

Tuesday Dinner Awards

During dinner tonight, we had numerous recognitiona. First off, HUGE THANKS to kitchen staff members Steven & Betsy Benson for grilling 400 hot dogs yesterday and over 300 hamburgers today.

Tonight’s “Funny Float” award goes to Lindsey Walker: “Wanna hear a joke about my brother [Ryan Walker]? Nevermind, I don’t want to shock you.”

And tonight’s “Paper Plate Awards” go to:

Lauren Szanti was given the “Brick Wall” award

Zachary Jordan was given the “‘Jimmy V’ Never Give Up” award

Sports staff member Sean Grimes and co-direcotor Tyson Bacon were awarded the “Into the Soccer Field” award for kicking the kickball into the soccer field

Sports staff member Drew Maudlin was given the “Best Soccer Field” award

Sports staff members David & Sonja McPherson were given the “Best Volleyball Court” award

The “Strong Man Award” was given to Zachary Jordan, Jacob Lanius & Jacob Roberts for carrying a table from the boys cabins to the mess hall

Mitchell King was given the “Happy Helper” award for helping clean up after sports

Emma Harris was given the “Bulldozer Award” for quickest soccer goal

Tuesday Lunchtime Awards

During lunch, the highly sought after “Golden Dust Pan Awards” were handed out to the cleanest boys cabin and cleanest girls cabin. Today, the Cabin 3 girls won the award and the Cabin 9 boys took home the trophy. Each will display their award in their sparkly clean cabin for the next 24 hours.

The compadres also presented several more “Paper Plate Awards”:

Sports staff member Brian Clark was given the “Oscar the Grouch” award because “at mealtime, he lives in the trash can,” helping campers during cleanup following each meal.

Ryan Crozier was given the “Making a Splash” award because he had left his water bottle on the volleyball court and when it was tossed to him for him to retrieve it, it burst and splashed all over him.

Evan Kriech was given the “Barnabas’s Buddy” award because he was extremely helpful with one of his bunkmates yesterday.

Compadre Brooke Howell was given the “Driving Ms. Daisy” award because she had never driven a golf cart, and when she did, she was extremely slow.

Lauren Szanti was given the “Gummy Bear Don’t Care” award because she sang every word of the “Gummy Bear Song” on the sidelines of kickball.

Isaiah Higgins was awarded the “Dunkin’ Daredevil” award because he dunked the basketball three times this morning.

Purple team captain Phil Martin was presented the “Batman Award” because he captured a bat that had been flying inside the mess hall and safely removed it and released it outside.
