MSC 2016 is Just Around the Corner!!!

Believe it or not, MSC 2016 is less than a month away!!!!!  Sr. Week (July 4-9) is just 23 days away, and Jr. Week (July 10-14) is just 29 days away.  The directors of both weeks are busy making exciting plans and we are confident that this is going to be the BEST MSC EVER!!!!!

As a reminder, this year’s camp theme is “Blessed” from Ephesians 1:3:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”

Final payment for Sr. Week is due next week, Friday, June 17, so if you have not made your final payment, please login HERE and pay online.

If you have not yet made your final payment for Jr. Week, your payment is past due!  To make your payment, please login HERE to pay online.

MSC Reunion on June 25

To get everyone in the mood for MSC 2016, the Friends of Indiana Youth (FIY) Board of Directors (which sponsors MSC), is hosting an MSC Reunion at the home of board members Craig & Ronna Howell (8613 Camby Rd., Camby, IN  46113) on Saturday, June 25 at 5:00 PM.  Everyone is invited, including MSC alumni, current campers, future campers, and all family members.  It will be a great time to get pumped up for this year’s camp, and reminisce about camp from days gone by!

FIY will be supplying hot dogs and drinks for everyone, but we ask that you please bring a side dish or dessert to share, and don’t forget your lawn chairs as this will be an outdoor event.

Save the Date for Kings Island:  July 22

Many campers and parents have already been asking about the date for the highly-anticipated annual MSC Post-Camp Kings Island Trip.  This year’s trip will be Friday, July 22, so be sure to save that date on your calendar.  We are still working on details (such as ticket discounts), so please keep checking social media for the official announcement once details are finalized.

 

2nd Annual MSC Golf Scramble Fundraiser on September 24

After the huge success of last year’s inaugural MSC Golf Scramble Fundraiser, longtime MSC supporter Rodney Smith is busy planning the 2nd Annual MSC Golf Scramble Fundraiser. The event will be held at the Deer Creek Golf Club in Clayton, Indiana on Saturday, September 24.  The cost is $55 per golfer, which includes green fee, cart, range balls, meal, and drinks.  Registration form and fees are due by September 1, so register today!  To register, simply print out the attached flyer (or click HERE), cut the Registration Form off the bottom, and mail in the form along with your check.  If you have any questions, please feel free to call Rodney at (317) 410-2970.

Hole sponsorships range from $100 – $500. 100% of the money raised from hole sponsorship will go to MSC.  For each sponsorship, a sign will be placed on the hole with your company logo, or if you are sponsoring in memory of a loved one, a picture of your choice will be placed on the sign.

Former MSC camp directors and longtime MSC supporters Steve & Connie Niemeier have graciously agreed to host an MSC Singing for 6th – 10th grade campers at their home in Avon, Indiana on Saturday, November 7 from 5-8 PM.  The Niemeiers will provide snacks and drinks following the singing.

MSC 2013 Registration is NOW OPEN!!!!!

 Although the temperatures are unseasonably chilly in Indiana, Spring has finally arrived, meaning we’re that much closer to MSC!!!!!  That’s right, MSC Sr. Week is a mere 102 days away (July 1-6) and MSC Jr. Week is only 108 days away (July 7-11). This year’s camp theme is “Impossible is Nothing!”

 Registration for both Sr. & Jr. Week is now OFFICIALLY OPEN. For your convenience, you can register AND pay online (via debit card, credit card, or PayPal) on our website.  Here are the details:

MSC Sr. Week

Campers must be at least 12-years-old by Aug. 1, 2013, must be 19-years-old or younger by Aug. 1, 2013, and must still be in high school or just graduated within the year. This year’s camp fee is $205 per camper, or if you have siblings attending Sr. Week, the fee for the second and subsequent campers in your family will be $195. Registration ends Friday, June 7. An $80 deposit must accompany each camper’s registration and final payment is due by Friday, June 14. For more details, visit our website at www.MidwestSummerCamp.com/camp/senior-week. MSC Jr. Week

Campers must be at least 8-years-old and must not be older than 11-years-old by Aug. 1, 2013. This year’s camp fee is $150 per camper, or if you have siblings attending Jr. Week, the fee for the second and subsequent campers in your family will be $140. Registration ends Monday, June 10. We’d like to thank each and every one of you who took time out of your busy schedule to support our “MSC Spirit Day” fundraiser at the Chick-fil-A restaurants in Avon&New Albany, Indiana on March 1. With your support of this fundraiser, we will be sponsoring some great events for campers and their families throughout the year, so stay tuned as more events will be announced as the year progresses.

Don’t Forget to Register for 2013 Primavera Formal 

If you haven’t already done so, please don’t wait any longer to register for the 2013 Primavera Formal to be held on Saturday, April 27! This highly-anticipated event is open to all campers in grades 9-12 and will be held at Jonathan Byrd’s in Greenwood with photos beginning at 5:00 PM, followed by dinner, after dinner entertainment, and door prizes. The fun will move to the Post-Prim at the Greenwood Community Center from 7:30 – 10:30 PM. Once again, we will offer basketball, volleyball, and free-time to visit with one another, but we’ve also reserved the game room this year!!!!

 The cost of this year’s Primavera Formal is $50.00 per person, which includes all the above-mentioned activities, as well as a photo CD. Each attendee (including campers and any guests) MUST fill out a registration form and pay the $50.00 admission fee. MSC “Picnic, Park & Pals” Coming Up on May 18

Our inaugural “Picnic, Park & Pals” at Williams Park (Blastoff Park) in Brownsburg, Indiana was such a huge success last year that we’re hosting it again this year!  Mark your calendars now for this year’s PP&P to be held on Saturday, May 18. Details for this event for the whole family will be released in the upcoming weeks.

“MSC Spirit” Day @ Chick-fil-A TOMORROW!!!!!

We just wanted to remind everyone that the “MSC Spirit Day” fundraiser is TOMORROW at the Avon & New Albany, Indiana Chick-fil-A restaurants. This fundraiser will help raise money for Midwest Summer Camp and its sponsored events. A portion of all sales by customers supporting MSC throughout the day will be donated to MSC.

Please print the flyer and cut it apart to share with family, friends, fellow Christians at your congregation, classmates, neighbors, etc. to help spread the word and help raise money for MSC. If you would, please forward this email to all of your contacts to further help us spread the word, and post details on your social media pages!

When ordering food at either of these Chick-fil-A restaurants tomorrow, for MSC to get any proceeds, you MUST either present the attached flyer OR mention Midwest Summer Camp at the cash register. Please remember that if you go back for dessert after your meal, once again present a flyer or mention MSC so we can earn a portion of all your money spent at Chick-fil-A. For all you campers’ parents, grandparents, etc., if you have any work meetings requiring catering, visiting customers to entertain over breakfast or lunch, or if you have any gatherings tomorrow evening for which you are expected to bring food, please consider going to eat at Chick-fil-A or order a platter of nuggets, chicken strips, cookies & brownies, etc. to help our “MSC Spirit Day” further succeed.
