MSC 2016 is Just Around the Corner!!!

Believe it or not, MSC 2016 is less than a month away!!!!!  Sr. Week (July 4-9) is just 23 days away, and Jr. Week (July 10-14) is just 29 days away.  The directors of both weeks are busy making exciting plans and we are confident that this is going to be the BEST MSC EVER!!!!!

As a reminder, this year’s camp theme is “Blessed” from Ephesians 1:3:

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, Who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ.”

Final payment for Sr. Week is due next week, Friday, June 17, so if you have not made your final payment, please login HERE and pay online.

We’re looking forward to another FANTASTIC year of MSC!!!

MSC Reunion on June 25

To get everyone in the mood for MSC 2016, the Friends of Indiana Youth (FIY) Board of Directors (which sponsors MSC), is hosting an MSC Reunion at the home of board members Craig & Ronna Howell (8613 Camby Rd., Camby, IN  46113) on Saturday, June 25 at 5:00 PM.  Everyone is invited, including MSC alumni, current campers, future campers, and all family members.  It will be a great time to get pumped up for this year’s camp, and reminisce about camp from days gone by!

FIY will be supplying hot dogs and drinks for everyone, but we ask that you please bring a side dish or dessert to share, and don’t forget your lawn chairs as this will be an outdoor event.

If you have any questions, please call or text Ronna Howell at (317) 697-9799.

We look forward to seeing everyone on June 25th!!!

Unfortunately, the weather is not cooperating today and we are forced to postpone today’s regularly scheduled 2nd Annual “Picnic, Park & Pals” at Williams Park in Brownsburg.  We hope to reschedule the event in the upcoming weeks, so we will communicate the new date as soon as possible.

We hope everyone has a great day and hope to see you all soon.

MSC’s 2nd Annual “Picnic, Park & Pals” Will HOPEFULLY Continue as Planned

There are still thunderstorms predicted for the Brownsburg area this afternoon, therefore we remain unsure whether or not the weather will be conducive for us to hold MSC’s 2nd Annual “Picnic, Park & Pals!” at Williams Park TODAY from 4:00-7:00 PM.  As of right now, we predict the picnic WILL occur, but we will send an update with an OFFICIAL CALL at 1:00 PM.  We greatly apologize for the uncertainty, but we obviously have no control over the weather. If the picnic is a go (as we hope it will be), in case of a pop-up shower this afternoon, we’ll move the festivities under the roof of the park shelter house, therefore please bring your favorite board games.

This event will be held at the shelter house in the back of the park. Once you arrive at the park, there will be signs directing you to the fun.

The festivities (volleyball, Frisbee, etc.) will begin at 4:00 PM, and the pitch-in meal will begin between 4:30 and 5:00.

Here’s a quick rundown of the details:

WHO: The ENTIRE family

WHEN: TODAY from 4:00-7:00 PM

WHERE: Williams Park (aka BlastoffPark) at 940 S. Locust Street, Brownsburg, Indiana46112

WHY: Come reunite with your friends before camp

BRING: A Main Dish; AND Chips OR Dessert; AND a 2-liter Soda; Board Games; as well as lawn chairs. FIY Board of Directors will provide ice, paper products, etc.

We hope to see you all this afternoon!  If you have any questions about this event, please call Danny & Carrie Elkins at (317) 408-1183.

MSC Has a BRAND NEW BLOG!!!!

Last year during MSC Sr. Week and Jr. Week, Tyler Wildman and Jacob Stout did a fantastic job blogging live from camp, allowing parents, siblings, family members, and friends back at home to keep up with their camper’s daily activities.  We received such GREAT feedback from last year’s blog that we’ve decided not only to once again blog from camp, but to blog year-round during ALL MSC events.  You may have noticed that we introduced the new blog Saturday night during the 2013 Primavera Formal. If you have not yet checked out our blog, please do so at www.AllThingsMSC.wordpress.com. Once you’re on the blog page, you can sign up to get email notifications as soon as a new blog entry is published—to receive these notifications, simply enter your email address and click the “Follow” button under “Follow Via Email” at the left-side of the page. Notification of and links to new blog entries will also be posted automatically on MSC’s Facebook page and MSC’s Twitter feed.

We hope you enjoy keeping up with “all things MSC!”

Thanks for Making the 2013 Primavera Formal a HUGE Success!!!

We’d like to thank each and every one of the 52 campers who came out and made the 2013 Primavera Formal a HUGE success Saturday night.  Attendance was up from last year’s headcount of 44, and we expect that number to continue to grow each and every year.  We hope everyone enjoyed the evening, and if you have not yet seen photos from the Primavera Formal, check out the photo albums on our blog (www.AllThingsMSC.wordpress.com).  For all of you campers who attended the event, please leave us feedback on how well you liked the banquet and share your photos on Facebook (www.Facebook.com/MSCcamp) and Twitter (www.Twitter.com/AllThingsMSC). And we’d like to extend a HUGE thank you to Rita Newton and all the other folks who worked so hard behind the scenes to make the banquet a smash success.
