Friday Morning Flagpole — “Blessed: Salvation”

Posted: July 8, 2016 by John McCauley in Bible Study, Sr. Week

Gold team captain Eddie Paden led the flagpole devotion this morning, introducing our daily theme:  “Blessed: Salvation.”

Here is his outline, followed by audio recording of his devotion:

An aircraft is dependent upon light in order to land on a battleship or aircraft carrier at night.

“Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat.”  – Matthew 7:13

“I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.”Philippians 3:14

“But refuse profane and old wives’ fables, and exercise thyself rather unto godliness. For bodily exercise profiteth little: but godliness is profitable unto all things, having promise of the life that now is, and of that which is to come.”I Timothy 4:7,8

Salvation is not a single action.  It is a continual walk toward heaven. God gives us the Light for a safe landing!  He gives us:

  • Hope
  • Confidence
  • Ability to get through
