Goodnight from MSC — Thursday, July 7

Posted: July 7, 2016 by John McCauley in Sr. Week

As Thursday, July 7 comes to a close, it’s been a beautiful day here at MSC. Today’s theme was “Blessed: Family,” focusing on both our physical and spiritual families.

This morning’s breakfast was the ever-so-popular breakfast burritos, so that started our day off right, in addition to our flagpole devotion by Nick Hall. After cabin cleanup, the three groups rotated between Bible class taught by Greg King, singing sessions led by Derek Gould, and Tomahawk throwing, archery, and arrowhead making with Ken & Janet Evans.  This afternoon’s rotation included the following events: Ultimate Frisbee, kickball, canoe heats, Air Raid, and Deal or No Deal.

At the conclusion of Ms. Belinda’s famous chicken & noodles dinner, the following Paper Plate Awards were handed out:

  • Best Canoe Exit — Jonathan Adams
  • Air Raid Ninja — Amelia Kelley & Jenna Maudlin

Following dinner, the traditional Friday night Lip Sync competition was moved to Thursday so tomorrow will end with an outdoor movie following Team Day and the highly-anticipated obstacle course. Once the Lip Sync winners were announced, Group 1 campers were dismissed to their cabins for devotions and lights out. Group 2 & 3 campers sang hymns on the lower sports field before turning in for the day.

MSC Sr. Week Day 4 has truly been a blessing to all of us and we leave you with a scripture from Greg King’s lesson this morning:

“So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and every one members one of another.”Romans 12:5

Good night from Shakamak!
