Wednesday Morning Flagpole — “Blessed: Peace”

Posted: July 6, 2016 by John McCauley in Bible Study, Sr. Week

Compadre Stephen Harris introduced the campers to the daily theme this morning as he gave the flagpole devotion:  “Blessed:  Peace.”

I know both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: every where and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.”Philippians 4:12,13

Abase — live humbly

Abound — live in prosperity

The apostle Paul was a great example as he was fine whether he was living humbly, or in prosperity. We should have peace because God knows what we need (Matthew 6:31-34). He upholds us and doesn’t forsake us–He is faithful and keeps His promises.  Life may not always be easy, but we should have peace in the fact that God is always with us (Psalm 37:23-25).

Benefits of Peace:

  • We are never alone
  • God has a plan for us
  • We have hope of salvation

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.”Philippians 4:7
